RHAยฎ OVERVIEW
New to the U.S., RHAยฎ fillers are 100% nonanimal resorbable hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers with high purity.
RHAยฎ fillers have been a popular injectable filler option in Europe over the past 5 years under the trade name Teosyl RHAยฎ. It was brought to the U.S. in the spring of 2020 by a licensing agreement between Revance Therapeutics and TEOXANE SA, the maker of the RHAยฎ Collection.
RHAยฎ fillers are primarily used to treat and/or prevent lines and wrinkles of varying size and depth. Additionally, some are meant to define and enhance features of the face. The different types of RHA fillers themselves vary slightly in gel densities and properties making them more effective for treating different concerns in specific areas of the face.

RHAยฎ Dermal Fillers Guide
- RHAยฎ 2 โ Used to treat moderate wrinkles and dynamic lines on the upper face areas including the glabella, forehead, or periorbitals. It can also be used to add volume to lips and define their shape.
- RHAยฎ 3 โ Used to treat moderate to deep wrinkles on any area of the face. Examples of deep lines and wrinkles include: vertical lip lines and nasolabial folds. This filler can also be used to enhance cheeks and contour the face for a more youthful look.
- RHAยฎ 4 โ Used to fill severe lines and wrinkles of the face and to provide volume and definition to the cheeks and facial contours.
ADMINISTERING RHAยฎ
During your appointment, the areas of the injection sites will be marked and thoroughly cleaned prior to the treatment. The RHAยฎ filler will then be injected into the skin. After each injection, light pressure is applied to the area to reduce bruising and swelling. Other than feeling a tingling sensation and some visible redness in the areas of the injections, there are usually no other side effects. Most patients are able to return to work with no downtime after their 15-30 minute RHAยฎ procedure.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
RHAยฎ dermal fillers are distinctive for their ability to treat dynamic facial lines, as well as their ability to move with facial muscles during emotional expression. Dynamic facial lines are wrinkles and lines caused by repetitive emotional expression, such as smiling or frowning. Traditionally, fillers used to treat these lines did so by restricting the movement of the muscles responsible for emotional expression. Patients using these fillers were often left looking emotionless and unnatural. RHAยฎ does not restrict facial movement, but instead adapts to it, making it an especially good filler for natural results maintained during emotional expression or at rest.
ALTERNATIVE FILLERS
RHAยฎ is just one of many hyaluronic acid injectable fillers. Other hyaluronic acid fillers include JUVรDERMยฎ and Restylaneยฎ. Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that is responsible for keeping connective tissue, like the skin, moist and well hydrated. Well-hydrated skin has extra volume โ something we associate with a youthful appearance. As we age, less hyaluronic acid is produced, leaving our skin thinner and more prone to wrinkling and creasing. Hyaluronic acid fillers are used to reverse signs of aging, by mimicking the volumizing effect of the naturally occurring substance in our body.
Typically, all hyaluronic acid fillers last between 6-18 months depending on the type of filler that was used, and how the individualโs body processes the filler over time. Lifestyle choices also affect the longevity of the filler. Habits such as smoking can shorten the duration of the expected result; whereas good skin care regimens, such as applying sunscreen, can lengthen them.

Virtually everyone is an ideal candidate for RHAยฎ fillers! It is however, recommended that patients are at least 22 years old or older. Patients with severe allergies or who have a history of anaphylaxis are not recommended to use this product. Additionally, those with bleeding disorders are also not good candidates for RHAยฎ filler use.
